Much of the origins of Piobaireachd had been lost following the breakdown of the Highland society after the failure of the 1745 rising and Piobaireachd only survived through a handful of the manuscripts and dedicated enthusiasts. The music that is referenced in the book can be found in the Piobaireachd society books 1 -13.
